Q&A: Is it bad in terms of SEO to use the same article you submit to Ezinearticles as a post on your blog?
Question by Flyfisher: Is it bad in terms of SEO to use the same article you submit to Ezinearticles as a post on your blog?
I’ve read some stuff about duplicate content and I’m trying to figure out if it’s bad to use an article I wrote on Ezinearticles as a post for my blog without changing it. If I post the same article in both places will it affect either the ranking of the ezinearticle, the blog, or both in Google? E.g. Google won’t list one or both of them because it’s the same content found elsewhere. Anyone know? Thanks.

Hi,
Google say ‘no’, there’s lots of evidence to say the contrary and having investigated SEO for some time now, I am convinced that the rules change on a regular basis.
Just to be safe, I would alter the blog content slightly, retaining any keywords that are important to you of course.
It’s probably best practice in any case?

The best SEO strategy is to host your website to an external host provider which has a “preferential” PageRank with Google, the supposed no. 1 search directory in the world. In this case, go to AOL.com and check the hosting prices on their “business” server. And do likewise with hosting packages from SBC/AT&T’s business branch, who also have a “preferential” SEO agreement with Yahoo. Failing to exercise this “preference” host strategy will ever leave your domain named website among the lower ranking websites on these two top search engines.
Good luck!

SEO Your Blog the Right Way
With well over 100 million blogs online, it’s certainly not easy to get noticed. But blogging is inherently SEO friendly. Why? Because search engines look for fresh content. And if you’re using your blog correctly (ie you’re updating it consistenly) then getting great SEO results is just a matter of time. One good way to differentiate yourself is to find a niche. Even if you’re in a crowded industry, you have to search out niches within that industry. This is where SEO comes in. The first thing you must do is target the keywords your customers, or potential customers, are using to find solutions in your industry. Keywords are, well, key. You want to select keywords that are popular and relevant to your site. At the same time, you don’t want to target what I call crowded keyword markets. For example, let’s say you’re a shoe seller. Now, the keyword “shoes” is big…too big. Even if you blogged for years you probably wouldn’t be able to compete for that term. Look at your shoe business and find something you can differentiate yourself with. Are you the largest shoe seller in the county? Do you make custom boots? This may seem trivial but it’s absolutely necessary if you want your blog to rank well in the search engines.
